COMPANY OVERVIEW
Our History
Tork Sports Performance first began in 2018 in response to a need for science-driventraining that was lacking in the area. Athletes were getting injured, rehabilitated, andreturning to sub-par training environments only to be re-injured.
Tork Sports Performance filled this industry gap and established itself as an independent facility in 2019. Since then Tork has excelled at providing a premier facility and exceptional coaching to the area’s athletes.
Tork works with all levels of athletes who live locally, amateur and professional athletes who reside here during the off-season, and we continue to provide on-site and remote services to athletes across the country.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

Assessment
We begin with a comprehensive evaluation to identify strengths and areas for improvement. We will identify any red flags for risk of injury and address deficits in movement quality.

Programming
The assessments are used to structure programming for each athlete based on their specific weak points and limits to optimal performance. EVERY athlete will receive a personalized training program built based on mesocycle duration, frequency, and intensity.

Monitoring
As each client progresses, the programs will evolve to challenge and maximize your performance continually. Regular feedback will ensure that clients remain on track and motivated. We will use tracking devices to monitor fatigue, RPE, and bar velocities in order to maintain certain training adaptations.
MEET THE TEAM

Adam Schoenberg, PT, MPT, LAT, ATC, CSCS
Adam is a licensed Physical Therapist, a licensed and certified Athletic Trainer, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Adam is the owner of both Tork Sports Performance and Atlas Physical Therapy. Adam has practiced in the Jacksonville and Saint Augustine areas since 2001. He received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Florida and has always maintained his attentiveness to strength and conditioning, sports medicine, and orthopedics.

Bronson Monsales BSH, MSH, CSCS
Bronson is an Exercise Physiologist and NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He received his B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics and M.S. in Kinesiology and Lifestyle Medicine both from the University of North Florida. Bronson believes the two most important variables regardless of how great a coach or program may be, are consistency and intention. This goes beyond sports, as it carries into life in general. If athletes can be taught and encouraged to be consistent with training and execute every drill and exercise with intent, they will be successful in their sport and hopefully, they learn that concept and carry it over to everyday life.

Nick Walker, DPT, CSCS, XPS, Driveline Certified Pitching Coach
Nick Walker is a performance coach and Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in elite pitching development and arm care. A former Division I baseball player at Liberty University, Nick bridges the gap between sports medicine and high-level player performance.

TORK’S SYSTEM
Personalized, Science-Based Training
– Every athlete receives a program customized to their needs, based on a comprehensive assessment. This includes training history, orthopedic screening, movement analysis (including velocity-based testing), and athlete profiling.
– We create a force-velocity profile for each athlete, allowing us to target individual weaknesses and optimize performance gains.
Comprehensive Assessment and Injury Prevention: “The greatest ability is AVAILABILITY.”
– Before training begins, we conduct an injury risk assessment and movement analysis, using protocols supported by scientific literature.
– Assessments include range of motion, accessory muscular strength, orthopedic special testing, and screening for movement faults that may increase injury risk.
– We identify and address any “red flags” for injury and work to improve movement quality and joint motor control.
TORK’S SYSTEM CONT.
Progressive, Periodized Programming: “That which gets measured, gets managed.”
– Training is organized into mesocycles, each designed to promote specific physiological adaptations over time.
– We use tools like fatigue monitoring, Rate of Perceived Exertion (RPE), and bar velocity tracking to ensure optimal training intensity and recovery.
– Early training phases focus on movement literacy, motor control, tendon stiffness, soft tissue mobility, and joint stability.
– As athletes progress, training shifts to emphasize maximal strength, eccentric overload (to improve force acceptance and motor control), and isometric tempos (to enhance stabilization and motor learning).
Vertical Integration and Sport-Specific Development
– Our programming utilizes vertical integration, meaning all aspects of athletic development (strength, speed, power, agility) are trained throughout the cycle, but with varying focus and intensity.
– Maximal strength is the foundation for speed and power. Eccentric and isometric training methods help develop the rate of force acceptance and neuromuscular adaptation.
– Once foundational strength and control are established, we progress to sport-specific demands, mimicking the speed, power, and movement patterns required in competition.
– Training includes speed-strength and power work, with specific attention to sprinting, acceleration, and change of direction, all tailored to the athlete’s sport and position.
TORK’S SYSTEM CONT.
Individualized Approach and Ongoing Support
– Each athlete’s program is adjusted based on their profile, goals, and current weaknesses, ensuring the most effective path to improvement.
– If an athlete isn’t ready for advanced programming, we offer alternative pathways to help them develop and eventually transition to higher-level training.
– We maintain a strong network of medical providers for consultation if needed.
Why Tork Sports Performance?
– We are not a traditional gym; we are a high-performance training facility dedicated to maximizing individualized athletic potential.
– Our approach is detailed and evidence-based, and we expect the same level of commitment from every athlete.
– Price and schedule are determined based on training frequency, duration, and group placement after assessment.

“Training at Tork has been a game changer for me as a quarterback. The coaches are not only great trainers but also great people who truly care about my development. The speed training has made me faster, which helps when I need to escape pressure or extend plays. The arm care and plyometrics have been crucial too, adding serious velocity to my throws while keeping my arm healthy throughout the season. The coaching and environment at Tork have pushed me to levels I didn’t think I could reach and I’m seeing the results every time I step on the field!”
Eric Hurley
Former MLB Pitcher
“Tork has been a game changer for my son. He battled some knee issues and a surgery that could have had taken longer to recover if it wasn’t for Tork and their team. The focus on strengthening to sport specific is second to none. My family and I will always be appreciative for the work Tork has done for our son to return him to the field and off to play Division 1 baseball at the University of New Orleans.”
Makayla Zhou
